Given his thinning/aging skin, it doesn’t take much for Dad to get friction skin tears. This is why you may sometimes see him with bandages/dressings on his legs or arms. Most of the time, the dressings are large/thick to ensure the injury is well padded/protected. In the past, he would have quite a few dressings at any one time. Now that he is less mobile, he tends to have far fewer or none at all.
There is no need to be concerned; they are not painful and slowly heal themselves if properly treated. There is no way to avoid them entirely, but Regis regularly applies moisturiser to his arms and legs to reduce the chances of a skin tear.
Dad is used to skin tears, and given that staff have always quickly and easily treated them, he is rarely concerned about them.
